Preserve Breast Augmentation in Marlton, NJ
A Less-Invasive Approach to Breast Augmentation
Preservé™ is an innovative approach to breast augmentation designed to create beautiful, natural-looking results while minimizing disruption to the breast’s natural tissues.
Using specialized techniques and Motiva® breast implant technology, Preservé™ offers an alternative to traditional breast augmentation for appropriately selected patients.
At Metropolitan Plastic Surgery in Marlton, NJ, board-certified plastic surgeon Julia Spears, MD, FACS offers Preservé™ for patients interested in breast enhancement with an emphasis on preserving natural anatomy and achieving soft, proportional results.
What Is Preservé™?
Preservé™ is a tissue-preserving approach to breast augmentation. The implant is placed above the pectoralis muscle (prepectoral), allowing the chest muscle to remain intact.
Specialized Preservé™ instrumentation is used to create the implant pocket while minimizing unnecessary disruption to the surrounding breast tissues. The procedure utilizes Motiva® breast implants and is designed to provide beautiful breast enhancement while respecting the patient's natural anatomy.
Benefits of Preservé™ Breast Augmentation
For appropriately selected patients, Preservé™ offers several potential advantages:
Muscle Preserving
The implant is positioned above the pectoralis muscle, allowing the chest muscle to remain intact.
Less Tissue Disruption
Specialized techniques are designed to preserve the breast's natural structures.
Smaller Incision
Preservé™ utilizes specialized instrumentation designed to allow implant placement through a relatively small access incision.
Performed Under Sedation
For appropriately selected patients, Preservé™ can be performed under IV sedation rather than general anesthesia.
Natural-Looking Results
Implant selection and placement are individualized to create soft, proportional enhancement that complements your natural anatomy.
Comfortable Recovery
By preserving the pectoralis muscle and minimizing tissue disruption, Preservé™ may contribute to a more comfortable postoperative experience. Individual recovery varies.

Preservé™ vs. Traditional Breast Augmentation
Preservé™ does not replace traditional breast augmentation. Instead, it gives patients another option for breast enhancement.
Traditional breast augmentation may involve implant placement either above or beneath the pectoralis muscle. Preservé™ specifically emphasizes prepectoral implant placement, muscle preservation, and minimizing disruption to the surrounding breast tissues.
Neither approach is right for every patient. During your consultation, Dr. Spears will evaluate your anatomy, existing breast tissue, skin quality, desired implant size, and aesthetic goals to determine the most appropriate technique for you.
Who Is a Candidate for Preservé™?
Preservé™ may be an option for women who want to increase breast volume or improve breast shape while maintaining a natural-looking appearance.
Candidacy depends on several factors, including your existing breast tissue, skin quality, anatomy, previous breast surgery, desired implant size, and aesthetic goals.
Some patients may be better candidates for traditional breast augmentation or may benefit from combining breast augmentation with a breast lift.
Dr. Spears will help determine which approach is best suited to your individual anatomy and goals.
